👑 Complaining And Disputing

Paul shows us that complaining actually gives place to the enemy in our lives because he thrives in an atmosphere of complaining. The Bible also shows us that we as believers should focus and meditate on the “good” and “praiseworthy” (Philippians 4:8). Complaining, called murmuring in the King James, is actually an outward expression of a bigger issue … discontent. It amplifies frustration and spreads discontent and discord (Proverbs 6:16-19).

1 Corinthians 10:9-10:

“Nor let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents; nor complain, as some of them also complained, and were destroyed by the destroyer.”

Philippians 2:14-15:

“Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless…”

This is why the Bible so strongly condemns complaining. The murmurings and grumblings of complaint are evidence that we are dissatisfied with God’s will for our lives. The solution to this problem is to recognize complaining as a sin and acknowledge “that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28) As Christians, when we begin to consciously work on being content in Christ, we open the door to provision and blessing because we have consciously given Him the glory.

Philippians 4:11:

“Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have.”
