Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires. // Psalm 37:4
God knows our hearts and know what’s best for us. He not only knows these things in divine detail, He knows the best timing in which to deliver. When our aim is delighting in Him and obeying Him out of love instead of what we will get out of it, our desires begin to change. And as I’ve learned in my walk with Christ, our desires and the “object” of our desires (the gifts or blessings we actually receive) can change as we continue to grow in wisdom and character. As an imperative in this process, I believe we must also learn to truly be content in every situation … with much or with little (a secret Paul has shared in Philippians 4:12).
This process … this transformation … can be difficult if we are invariably consumed with desires to be something or someone that we were not created to be. To fall into the trap of comparison which leaves us longing for something else … something more. When we delight ourselves in Him, thus losing ourselves and becoming hidden in Him (Colossians 3:3), our desires for ourselves begin to align with His desires … the “object”. The Creator of the heavens, the stars, the earth, and our hearts knows our every thought … and knew us long before we were born (Psalm 139). He can be trusted to bring us the “object” that’s best.

Since you're here …
… we have a small favor to ask. We are committed to spreading the Gospel of Grace and encouraging Bible Study, Rightly-Divided but it takes work, time, and money to do what we do. Would you consider helping us to be an ever-reaching light in this dark world? You can do so for as little as $1.
Thank you for your support and your prayers. They are greatly appreciated!
