The Persians kept the records of the executive orders issued by their kings βin the kingβs treasure houseβ (EzraΒ 5:17), right alongside their riches of silver and gold (EzraΒ 7:20). Obviously, they considered the commandments of their king to be of equal value as their jewels and other treasures.
At the risk of sounding like a Capital One commercial, whatβs in the treasure house ofΒ your heart? Can you say with the psalmist, βI have rejoiced in the way of Thy testimonies,Β as much as in all riches?β (Psa. 119:14)? Or have you matured in the faith to where you can honestly stand before God and say to Him, βI love Thy commandmentsΒ aboveΒ fine goldβ (Psa. 119:127), βmore to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine goldβ (Psa.Β 19:10).
If not, it might be time for a prayerful reevaluation of the spiritual portfolio of your soul. source
