βFor sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbidβΒ (RomansΒ 6:14,15).
Religionists have taught us to make ourselves holy so God will accept us. Water baptisms, commandments, penance, vows of poverty, prayers, confessions, and tithes are allegedly βstepping stonesβ to gaining Godβs fellowship.Β βFaith without works is dead,βΒ they always like to remind us (James chapter 2βIsraelβsΒ verses!). TheyΒ erroneouslyΒ believe that successful Christian living meansΒ ourΒ works (cf. todayβs Scripture). We live in the Dispensation of Grace (Ephesians 3:2); therefore,Β we are under grace not law! Still, that doesΒ notΒ mean that God doesΒ notΒ care how we live.
Titus chapter 2:Β β[11] ForΒ the grace of GodΒ that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, [12] Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts,Β we should live soberly,Β righteously, andΒ godly, in this present world; [13] Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; [14] Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.β
Here is grace living. God gave youΒ in ChristΒ forgiveness of all your sins forever. What will you do? Keep asking for daily forgivenessβor just enjoy what He already gave you? He redeemed you;Β ChristβsΒ blood paid to release you from sinβs slave market. What will you do? Ignore it and keep sinning? It isΒ Christβs life in and through you,Β notΒ you living for Him (PhilippiansΒ 1:21). Most believers have no understanding of grace doctrine; consequently, they are confused, burdened, and frustrated. When you simply rest in Godβs provisionsΒ in Christ, though, whatΒ liberty,Β understanding, andΒ joy. Christian living depends onΒ GodβsΒ works! source
