Imagine you’re in a battle, surrounded by hatred, violence and every type of evil imaginable. You’ve been in this battle for years, you’re in it now and there’s no end in site. All the sudden (in the middle of the battlefield), 20′ tall angels appear to surround you along with a lavish banquet table and two chairs. You then see your Lord and Savior Jesus appear as He takes a seat in one of the two chairs. You then begin to plead with Him by describing the hate, the violence and the evil … you beg Jesus to please stop the battle so that you can concentrate and enjoy His presence. You’re frustrated, defeated, tearful, exhausted. Jesus then leans forward and says ‘Child of God, just sit down. Please just sit down here with me. You are in the presence of God and surrounded by angels. The battle is indeed raging around us but we’ve already won the battle. You know this because I know this. Can we please sit down and enjoy our meal?’
In that very instant, the battle around you becomes a blur … the noise becomes muted … the chaos becomes calm. Relaxation … Restoration. You take the time to savor every morsel of wisdom as your fears are once again replaced with courage … your doubts with faith.
Yet again, the battle zooms in vividly as the noise begins to increase in volume. This time, however, you anxiously re-join the battle with a renewed, confident mind and another layer of armor.
Absolutely! Thank you for the reply Keri. God Bless!!
I love this post. Even in the midst of battles you can find strength and peace in Jesus.
