As a boy stood with his father, gazing at a beautiful Minnesota lake, the little four-year-old asked: βDaddy, who made this lake?β βGod made it,β replied his dad, βand God made those trees and all this beautiful scenery.β
There was a momentβs silence. Then, placing his hands on his hips, the boy said: βHe sure did a good job!β
Yes, He did, yet this scenery was nothing compared with the glory this earth will know when Christ returns to reign. If earthβs rivers and lakes, its mountains and valleys, its landscapes and seascapes can now be so breath-taking, so awe-inspiring, what will be its beauty when prophecy is fulfilled and the curse removed!
βThe wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them [Godβs people, Israel] and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.
βIt shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God.β
ββ¦for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.
βAnd the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of waterβ¦β
βAnd the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee awayβ (Isa. 35:1,2,6,7,10). source
