Autumn:
When you think of autumn, envision the radiant hues of red, purple, orange and yellows β¦ driving through a mountainside and soaking in the landscape with these amazing colors. It is the memory of these beautiful colors that can often inspire us throughout winter. When everything is dark and gray, we can recall these boundless colors of autumn and know that we will see them once again. This is one of the many ways in which love manifests itself. Itβs the memory of these good times β¦ the colorful, joyful and love-filled times that can carry us through the difficult times in our lives β¦ those without the presence and outpouring of love.
Winter:
With that in mind, there is a surprising beauty in the winter as well. The leaves are off the trees and the season exposes what is really there. This is yet another way love manifests itself. The difficult times can expose what we are really made of. They provide an opportunity to discern between what reveals our weaknesses and what brings out our strengths β¦ who creates loss and who creates gain β which door to choose when one becomes closed. When we enter a difficult season and choose to look at it from a perspective of growing deeper, of changing in the ways God wants us to change or working things out and coming to new conclusions, then we can always find beauty β¦ and love β¦ in the season weβre in.
